El Nino is a wonderful phenomenon. Really anything that raises the overall temperature and keeps snow away from the Chicagoland area is a-ok in my book. It was 60 degrees in Chicago over the weekend, which is practically unheard of in mid-December. I walked around without a coat for a bit. Some people walked around in even less and went viral as a result. This is pretty fantastic. Of course there’s also the whole climate change factor to consider, which isn’t fantastic. For now, let’s just keep taking it one day at a time and making the best of a bad situation. Also bringing the heat is today’s week-starting edition of Pick Your Poison. There are some quality tracks in this set from Cotton Mather, Krisp, MIRA and Takenobu. In the Soundcloud section after the jump, stream songs from Chrome Sparks, DIIV, Katy B x Four Tet x Floating Points, Mr. Oizo (ft. Charli XCX), New Madrid, Thee Oh Sees, Thom Fekete (of Surfer Blood), White Sea and more.
